Stress, Performance, and Ross Green

kids do well if they can

  1. Biological – Reframe the behaviour
  2. Emotional – Id the possible stressors
  3. Cognitive – Reduce the stressors
  4. Social – Become self-aware
  5. Prosocial – Figure out strategies that work for you
  • behaviourism doesn’t do us any favours
    • just develops student’s strategies on how to avoid punishment
  • Self regulated learning helps us understand stress, and encourages a prosocial environment
  • stress behaviour vs. mis behaviour
  • Mindfulness: for assumptions and bias that skew our perception of why students/ children behave the way they do
