As a millennial, I have written blog posts at both my leisure and for my studies. This year the incorporation of blogging for my courses continues!
I am to create five separately themed blogs this semester. Three different topic entries for my technology course, one for my music course, and blog responses for my personal education course.
Although I well prefer this over multiple assignments or essays, the amount of time students are expected to be on their computer is now greatly overwhelming! I am currently cultivating a game plan for this upcoming semester:
2. Purchase some blue light glasses. Blogs and websites are such great instruments for teachers to communicate with parents, and I am so excited to build a repertoire with new tools!
3. Spend spare time offline. I need to work on spending to odd spare hour of “down time” offline. With so many social platforms as primary communication between myself and teachers, all of my time will be spent online if I don’t be careful. One thing I love about this program is we are encouraged to learn an instrument, and have a free inquiry. This will definitely help us as student teachers spend time offline for awhile.
I have had great experiences watching how apps like FreshGrade, and Classroom Dojo help connect the classroom community to parents and guardians.
As I develop my teaching pedagogy, I am realizing the give and take of technology in the classroom. I cannot wait to learn how technology can be beneficial in my own classroom one day! During this course, I plan to take everything with a grain of salt; as one tool I see today as not useful, may give a huge impact on my classroom in the long run!
All for now! Cheers!
